Picked up a Phillips head screw on the Miata’s right rear. Ouch. Walked out during lunch to see the tire looking flat. Didn’t even have to look far to find the culprit.

$20 for a patch at the local tire shop later and it’s as good as new. Guess this is the sign from the universe to get the Global MX-5 Cup wheels (1/2-off VOLK Racing wheels) and RE-71s or something.

On the flip side, I did remember to write 2018 on all my forms and I didn’t utterly ruin everything on my first day back.

eBay sells you these with ~$4 including delivery. I have fixed +10 holes with similar things.

Is the jerky to give you sustinence while you patch?

Yeah. The puncture is first prepared with the reamer thingy and then that sticky worm is pushed in with the other tool. I guess that set has a separate glue to ensure the tightness of the the patch.

The ones that we have here usually work without the glue. You can even fix the hole without removing the tire if you can reach the area (easier with front tires).

I really should get one of these kits, but I’ll also need to buy a jack since Mazda gives you a lug wrench but no jack.

You can patch a tire with beef jerky?

They look rubberish but I haven’t tasted them. So maybe.
